Some of my clients have been very generous and have written me Testimonials. In this modern online world it seems they have become important, and of course “word of mouth” means a lot. Some clients have signed with their initials, first name, or “anonymous,” some with the place where they live and/or with their professions. Each client made their own decision about how to sign based on what felt right to them given that Testimonials are online and this very personal and private work.

“I have had a handful of good therapists in my lifetime, but no one who saw me as fully and deeply as Geena. Geena's approach to listening, asking powerful questions, holding silence, or inviting deeper introspection, allowed me to make more progress in two years than I have in the last twenty. I think an important piece of that was how fully "held" I always felt by Geena; there was nothing too big or too little to explore. I always felt connected from session to session, like she was constantly holding a bird's eye view of everything. Geena was incredibly skilled at gently reminding me of my whole, true self, especially when I felt lost. More than anything I trust Geena. She has a level of wisdom, patience, kindness and compassion which allowed me to share things I have never been able to with other therapists. We unfortunately had to stop working together because I moved out of state, but I can still feel her words - and the feeling of the way she saw me fully - resonating deep within. I can honestly say I feel more confident, grounded and able to steer myself in the directions I want to go after my work with Geena. I would recommend my best friend to work with Geena wholeheartedly (and already have :)”

“I do not think there is anything I could have said that would have caught Geena off guard. I never felt like an odd-ball or freak or shamed. She was always right with me even if I talked about my not so great past. She heard the worst and stayed with me every second during hard EMDR work.”

“Before working with Geena, I was suffering from crushing postpartum anxiety due to a birth trauma that was making it hard for me to be fully present in my daily life as a mother, partner, and professional. Geena is an incredible therapist. She knows just what you need, and she guides you compassionately on your journey toward healing. I am so grateful to Geena. I no longer have multiple panic attacks a day. I can calmly enter hospitals and doctor's offices. I can play with my child and be in the moment with her. Working with Geena was invaluable, and I am so grateful for her approach as a therapist.”

“I went to Geena to make decisions about my present and to envision my future, but I also ended up working through difficult events from my past. Regardless of what I brought into the room (and no matter how exciting, sad, painful, or confusing it was) Geena expertly pointed out the difficult questions I was unable to ask myself. She accompanied me through a tumultuous chapter with grace, kindness, laser focus, and complete non-judgment. I will always be grateful to her for our time together, and the tools she left me with. Because of my work with Geena, I know how to access my voice when I really need it.

“I found Geena when I was at one of the lowest places that I have been in my life. She was the steadiness that I needed to begin to put my life back together. Her ability to meet me where I was every session and support me in my transitions, was very important to me and consequently I was able to move rather quickly into a new place with myself and my circumstances that was much more sustainable. Geena has a wonderful ability to reflect back where I am in the moment and offer insight that I have not thought of or considered before. I feel lucky that I have been able to work with her and experience her skill and support as a therapist.”

“Working with Geena was essential as I worked to move from c-PTSD to a space of post-traumatic growth. Her deep compassion, clarity, and skillful communication made an incredible difference. My life has evolved to one of greater peace--I'm so grateful!”

“When I first went to Geena, I felt like I was drowning in my anxiety. I was dealing with post partum depression and anxiety. I was feeling so helpless and knew I couldn’t keep living like this so I decided to reach out for help and I was so worried I wouldn’t find the right support. But boy, did I! I embarked on my journey of healing with Geena and I cannot believe how my life changed. She gave me a safe space to start over and work through things I needed too, she empowered me to move forward and she gave me hope that I could heal. I gained the tools I needed to cope in a healthy way and take good care of myself. Geena genuinely cared and I could feel it. I am forever grateful for Geena and she holds a special space in my heart for helping me in one of the hardest time in my life.”

“I am so thankful for Geena’s presence in my life. I am so deeply grateful for my time spent working in sessions with her. It is rare to come across someone who is so truly and intuitively gifted at what they do. She will always inspire me and my growth, and I am forever thankful.

“I lost hope in finding the right therapist for me until I met Geena. Geena exudes kindness and compassion. She’s inquisitive and knowledgeable, and I found myself saying - and meaning - “thank you” after each session.”

“Prior to sessions I was extremely upset and confused about some family issues. I was experiencing symptoms of PTSD which were affecting my daily life. After my work with Geena I am able to use relaxation techniques to overcome anxiety, I no longer have panic attacks, I was able to talk with a family member about trauma issues, and I was able to set necessary boundaries with my family. The journaling, and body scans have become a core way of life and checking in with myself. The person I am now is so different from when I started and I believe this experience is the reason I was able to get through what I was dealing with.”

“I am truly sad that my work with Geena is coming to an end. Although I’ve been in therapy before, I never really clicked with a therapist in the way that I’ve been able to with Geena. Not only is she extremely well-qualified and intelligent, but when I entered into therapy I entered in fully, and she has been there to support my process as a true model of strength and loving compassion every step of the way. She is full of life! She is quickly able to bring things to light or even “call me on things” as they happen in session. I feel that she truly believes in me and holds my best interests to heart. Thank you, Geena!”

“Geena, for me it was simply helpful to talk to a therapist/counselor who had personal experience with breast cancer. That experience made a tremendous difference. I only wish I had found you sooner! I can look back now and see that during different phases of my treatment it may have been incredibly helpful to have you specifically to talk things through with. I found a counselor through my employee assistance program (EAP) right after chemo and she was not remotely helpful and that turned me off to wanting to look for someone else. She had no experience in this area so I wasn’t sure I’d find anyone that would be helpful, but I found you. I feel lucky and wish there was more support like what you offer out there.”
